If the colostrum is given directly from mother to calf - disregarding the quality, the amount of antibodies the calf obtains will be completely random - which again will be reflected in the animal's lifetime milk production.
With coloQuick we have developed a method - which will increase milk production in any herd, regardless of the current level. We do this by optimizing the four factors that determines the quantity of antibodies the calf obtains.
When a calf is born
1. Take a cartridge of colostrum from the freezer
2. Warm up in the rotating water bath - Quickly and gently
3. Feed the calf - directly from the colostrum bag
4. Milk the cow during scheduled milkings
5. Test the colostrum - top quality is filled into the bags
6. Put top quality colostrum in the freezer
Pasteurizing: If you pasteurize colostrum, this should be done immediately after it is quality tested.
