AGROEXPO Agriculture, Livestock and Poultry Fair, that was held for the 19th time this year, took place at Fuar Izmir between January 30 and February 03, 2024.
There were total of 500 stand exhibitors, 120 of were foreigners. As REFARM A.Ş., we experienced a very productive sector-specific solution-oriented fair organization for the future.
At REFARM A.S. stand, we mainly emphasized our Ruminant and Poultry products. Many local and foreign participants visited our stand. The meetings we held with both our existing business partners and the participants with whom we have made new business plans were very useful for us.
As in previous years; Virkon S disinfectant, which is the cornerstone of biosecurity practices, attracted great interest from our visitors with its wide range of uses (ruminant, poultry and greenhouse areas) and its effect against known viruses, bacteria and fungi such as FMD and Avian influenza-bird flu.
Likewise, we continued to produce result-oriented solutions for our visitors with TOMCAT2 rodent control products developed in Bell Laboratories and highly preferred in the sector.
The CalfExper automatic calf feeding machine - hygiene station and automatic weighing system produced by our business partner Holm&Laue, with its technical features and equipment, was a product that was highly preferred and distinguished from its counterparts.

The 10th VIV Turkey International Poultry Technologies Fair took place at the Istanbul Expo Center from July 6th to July 8th, 2023, bringing together poultry companies and consultants from various countries to create a valuable platform for industry networking and knowledge exchange.
Being the first VIV-poultry fair organized in Turkey after the Covid-19 pandemic, it was met with great excitement by participants and visitors. The majority of potential buyers coming from various countries indicated the significance of our country's poultry sector stakeholders in our region.
At our booth, Refarm A.Ş., we had the pleasure of welcoming our guests, where we had the privilege of hosting representatives and technical experts from the companies we proudly represent, with our entire team and introducing them to the brands we represent and manufacture. Our photo corner showcasing the mesmerizing view of Istanbul, while also commemorating the 100th anniversary of the Republic of Turkey, received a great deal of admiration.
The high-quality vaccine stabilizers which increase the benefits of the vaccine and pH regulators offered by ASP-USD company garnered significant interest from users.
Viscon Hatchery automation systems, represented by our company, received great appreciation for their visually supported presentations during the event.
Among the most captivating products at our stand were Bell company's effective rodenticides and our important insecticides.
During the fair, we presented our extensive product range, including our long time partner Lanxess – Antec Virkon S disinfectant, and MS Schippers a rather new but happily evolving partner with its moisture absorbing products and our other disinfectant groups.
With our 35 years of experience, we provided poultry producers with all the necessary biosecurity products required throughout the production stages.
With our experienced team, the importance of our feed additives, probiotics, and natural coccidiosis preventive products in promoting healthy broiler and layer farming was emphasized, highlighting their role in preventive veterinary medicine.
Welcoming our colleagues from the industry and esteemed companies at our booth was a great pleasure, as we engaged in discussions, shared sector news, and explored new possibilities for collaboration.

At the 12th China Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Industry Summit hosted by Southern Media Group and Southern Rural News, our famous disinfectant Virkon® S was awarded as "Influential Disinfection Product of the Year 2022".

The China Agriculture and Animal Husbandry Trend List is a public event initiated and organized by mainstream media, with the participation of authoritative institutions, industry representatives at all levels, and is a benchmark list in the field of biosecurity.

REFARM A.Ş. participated in the 18th AgroExpo İzmir fair held between 01-05 February at the largest fair area in İzmir. The event attracted exhibitors from 38 foreign countries and featured a Poultry Zone for the first time this year, which we believe will continue to develop in the future.
REFARM A.Ş. team was pleased to host our esteemed guests at our booth, which was the first fair we participated in after the Covid-19 pandemic. We provided valuable information with the regional representatives of the companies we represent, as well as showcasing our products.
At our booth, we exhibited EmTech-incubators and ventilation systems, which were introduced to our visitors by the company's technical business development officer, Mr. Mohammed El-Ashram. Additionally, we were able to establish closer communication with the manufacturers through B2B meetings both in our company booth and at EmTech in the British Pavilion.
Our visitors were particularly interested in Virkon S disinfectant due to its wide area of use in ruminant, poultry, and greenhouse areas, as well as its effectiveness against known viruses, bacteria, and fungi such as FMD disease and Avian influenza. We also showcased Holm & Laue MilkTaxi machine and the Calfexpert automatic calf feeding system, which provide easy use and good hygiene, with video shows, allowing interested parties to ask questions on-site. DryCare and HoofClean, the litter driers of MsGold company, which provide solutions to hygiene and hoof problems in cattle, were also well-received by our visitors. We would like to express our gratitude to Mr. Rodney Kordahi, Regional Sales Representative, for his contribution.
Our specially formulated Pro-Vitalyte and IG-Drink Paste products containing various immunoglobulins against many diseases were also in focus due to the rapid development opportunities they offer by strengthening the immunity of calves, lambs and kids.
Our booth also featured TOMCAT2 rodent control products developed at Bell Laboratories, providing a focused solution for our customers in the fight against rodents. Agritech's feed silos, which offer ease of pouring and insulation with their light weight, were also of great interest to visitors at the fair.
Our ProVel product, which we developed against calf diarrhea and the risk of diarrhea, was among the products that attracted the most attention.
We had the opportunity to directly explain our program and various products we developed in the fight against cryptosporidiosis and coccidiosis to the technical teams of the business and share their field experiences.
As a company that has been serving this sector for more than 35 years, we were delighted to meet new friends and many familiar faces at the fair. We provided information and service support to our visitors on Biosafety with a wider variety, and we will continue to make efforts to contribute to the productivity of breeders in the future.

REFARM participates in VIV Turkey 2019 Poultry and Technology International Trade Fair
VIV Turkey 2019 9th International Trade Fair for Poultry Technologies was held at Istanbul Fair Center on 13-15 June 2019.
As usual, REFARM A.Ş. took its place in the fair that it has attended uninterruptedly for many years, representing the products of pioneering international companies in their areas as well as its own concepts regarding product portfolio, usage methods etc.
Based on its mission of “Biosafety is our business” REFARM has focused on the products and methods of struggle for “SALMONELLA CONTROL process this year, and exchanged information with breeders and integration field managers.
Also Mr. ANGEL LANCHAS, Middle East key account representative for LANXESS represented by REFARM in Turkey and Ms. KATRIN TURVEY from same company EMEA Head of Sale manager answered questions forwarded by our visitors at the fair regarding multi-usage of VIRKON S.
Natural pest control products introduced by REFARM and included in its portfolio of biocidal products which are important and essential products of biosecurity in disease prevention also attracted attention at the fair.
Natural feed additives with antibacterial, antiviral and anticoccidial functions also attracted the attention of foreign visitors, in particular.

We have participated in poultry fairs since the establishment of our company
VIV Turkey Poultry and Poultry Technologies International exhibition has gained a more global image each and every year in terms of exhibitors and visitors. A significant number of visitors were foreign visitors this year. Exporter associations and concerned ministries have as much share as the fair organization does in this success. This situation is pleasing for those involved in the sector as well as the national economy.
On the other hand the subject mostly discussed during the fair was the difficulties incurred by egg producers as Iraq had stopped procurement of eggs from Turkey. I hope that the government will take the necessary steps and Iraq customs doors will be opened soonest possible
As for our situation regarding the fair, we had a useful experience and a pleasing performance at the show and we thank everyone who contributed to the event..
The distributors meeting which is organized regularly was held in Verona, Italy between 05 and 07 March, 2019.
At the meeting attended by European distributors, a slide presentation covering general introduction of Lanxess and Antec Ltd present activities was made.
Later, extensive information about new products and concepts on the agenda of the company was provided. Also, the issue of Brexit and eventual situations to follow Brexit were evaluated.
The second day of the meeting focused on the researches about the diseases that are being tackled, how to fight them and the correct biosecurity measures to be taken.

In independent tests made and repeated practices while explaining “fighting methods”, the efficiency of VirkonS 1/200 solution in 1 minute and the efficiency of 1/600 solution in 10 minutes against IB, AI and ND virus were explained with examples.
In addition, the importance of water line cleaning and drinking water hygiene in the against ILT challenges was noted.
In another presentation, it was pointed out that the biofilm formation and its effective of disinfection and negativities such as reduction of antibiotic use were not only a matter to be considered in water lines, but biofilm formation was also observed on surfaces.
In taking biosecurity measures, the importance of choosing the right product was emphasized as well as critical control points. Our technical coordinator Vet. E. Zafer Bozdoğan and our poultry unit manager S. Engin Altoprak participated in the seminar and practical works.
An intensive meeting agenda covering subjects such as animal welfare, free- range chicken, biosecurity -antibiotic usage relationship and human health.
The 3-day seminar during which participants shared their experiences from their own countries and the characteristics of the equipment used ended with a short city tour.
At the exhibition held between 13 – 16 November 2018 our board of director SAKE YALCIN and technical coordinator Zafer BOZDOGAN hosted their guests at the boots of the companies represented by REFARM, in Turkey.
During this time the following informations were provided by representatives of said companies;
Holm and Laue, represented by REFARM in Turkey, has made many innovations in calf feeding machines and made it possible to feed 4 calves at the same time thanks to advances in the hygienic stations of H & L100 automatic feeding machines.
As usual, Antec-Lanxess participated in the fair with their VIRKON stand.
We observed at the fair that the protection function of our product "PRO-VİTALYTE" with immunoglobulin developed against calf diarrhea had been adopted by many companies and we were glad to be pioneers in Turkey regarding this issue, as well.
Having observed that awareness regarding “biosecurity (the mission of our company) and preventive medicine are the basis for obtaining both economic and healthy products” has been spreading each and every day, serves as a most positive factor to motivate our efforts.
On the other hand, we found it very pleasing for our sector that many manufacturers from Turkey had opened stands at the fair to present and promote their products.
As REFARM Group of Companies we participated in AGROEXPO 2018, 13th International Agriculture and Livestock Fair held in Izmir between 01-04 February 2018.
The international exhibition which was opened by Mr. Ahmet Eşref FAKIBABA, the Minister of Food, Agriculture and Livestock attracted great attention from foreign and domestic companies.
Hundreds of thousands of visitors from abroad and especially those from our close environment, as well as visitors from home showed interest in the fair.
While welcoming guests at our stand, we gave priority to providing information regarding of preventive medicine and biosecurity measures which is the mission of our company. Accordingly, we introduced our products and concepts below based on the fact that it is more economical to protect live beings from diseases than treatment.
Control of diarrhea in calves, kid and lambs with our Pro-Vitalyte product developed against all kinds of diarrhea with or without cause, strengthening of immune system, and application.
•The fighting method developed with our natural feed additives and disinfectants that eliminate the scatter in the environment, to protect calves against Cryptosporidiosis
•We have helped our visitors to solve their problems with our rodent and pest-control products and methods against rodents which are carriers of many diseases and cause economic losses due to their damages to products.
•We informed our guests about the fact that biosecurity practices in greenhouses would prevent losses in production.
As usual MILKTAXI, our milk replacer/milk preparation and distribution machine was the focus of attention.
The new generation of Milktaxi 4.0 is capable of providing whole milk/milk replacer according to age by reading the information of calves or calf groups with Smart identification method with in bucket feeding.
We can say that the information panels regarding new developments and issues to be taken care of in farming which small size producers and business owners followed with interest and the bilateral negotiations organized together with Aegean Exportes’s Association Izmir branch to be conducted with companies from abroad were both useful.
In conversations, we heard (listened to) observations that small producers were not able benefit from the support/incentives for rural development.
The live animal competitions, which have become a tradition for AGROEXPO fairs, spiced up the event, as well.
REFARM A.Ş. welcomed its guests at VIV TURKEY 2017, the 8th Poultry and Technologies International Fair and the meeting point of the poultry industry for both our country and other countries in the region, organized at the Istanbul Exhibition Center between July 6 and 8, 2017.
Bringing the indispensable elements of biosecurity applications together with our motto of "Biosecurity is Our Business", we exhibited at our stand in the fair “disinfectants, rodent control products, drinking water and cooling pad hygiene management, incubator machines and automation, special vaccine stabilizers and spray application equipment for better performance from inoculations in hatcheries, enzymatic and activator-specific natural feed additives for solution methods with natural products in the challenge of coccidiosis”.
At our stand in the exhibition, Mr. Gregory, director of sales and business development with of the Netherlands represented by our company in Turkey and Mr. Ryan a science and technology specialist with ASP (USA) also represented by our company, answered the questions of our visitors and provided information about the products, together with our poultry unit and environmental team.
At the fair, we observed that the number of foreign visitors as well as the number of foreign companies with direct participation was increasing each year.
This year, we have planned to give gifts to 5 visitors to win in our lottery, using numbered “visitor information forms” collected at our stand in the exhibition. The winner will be posted on our website www.refarm.com.tr. They will also be informed directly.
3rd International Biocides Congress has been completed.
We have participated in the 3rd International Biocides Congress arranged together with the supports of Public Health Agency of Turkey, Çukurova University, Ege Univesity and contributions of Ministry of Health in 22-25 November 2016 in Antalya.
The Congress has been also supported with various of agencies and organizations like European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), Confederation of European Pest Management Associations (CEPA), Ministry of Environment and Urbanisation, Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock, Ministry of Internal Affairs.
In the opening ceremony, Congress General Secretary Prof. Dr. Muhsin Akbaba has pointed out the topics to be discussed in the congress while Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mustafa Kemal Başaralı mentioned in his speech that biocides products needs to well analysed, awareness should be rised in tracing and evaluation of biocides.
We noticed during the congress that the topics are less relevant to regulation and more to scientific presentations and notifications. We also were happy to welcome guests and participants in our booth.
Governor Mr. Ibrahim Şahin impressed the audience during the opening speech at the National Poultry Congress.
The National Poultry Congress was held on 5th - 8th October, 2016 in Samsun.
Together with the organizations of Samsun Ondokuz Mayıs Univertsity Agriculture Faculty lecturer and Congress President Prof. Dr. Musa Sarıca and Science Board President Prof. Dr. Servet Yalçın, scientific subjects and new articles has been discussed in the congress. Refarm’s Chairwoman of the Board Miss Şake Yalçın has attended the congress.

The congress was very crowded with the people who came all around the world. The most impressive speech was Governor Mr. Ibrahim Şahin’s and impressed all the audience. Mr. Şahin mentioned about the national poultry problems and his comments about the international poultry breeding strategies. We wish success to Mr. Şahin for his works.
The main topics discussed in the congress was biosecurity, consumer perception and food safety. Prof. Dr. Bingür Sönmez, a famous heart surgeon, has pointed out the benefits of white meat in human consumption with the help of news and social media reports.
Another topic was, although Turkey’s condition as being in the white meet production in the 10-11th line and egg consumption in the 8th line worldwide, that the animal meat protein consumption was very low when compared with civilized countries. The point underlined as people shouldn’t stay away from white meat since it is relatively more accessable – purchasable protein source.
The results from the imporvement studies in the parent stocks of the broiler breeders, conducted by Ankara Poultry Research Institute and consulted by Mr. Musa Sarıca, has been shared. The results were very promising in this study with the helps of ’s Chicken and Poultry Incubators as Refarm is the one and only distributor in Turkey. The Institute’s Director also mentioned that this study is not covering all the needs of our country hence it is necessary to have a native breed in our country as well.
The congress has concluded after discussing national and international problems in the poultry market and about its solutions.
We, as Refarm, were glad to see in the legislations that the biosecurity matter has finally became more important as we are pioneers in this aim underlining the preventive medicine over 30years.
The congress has ended with a beautiful trip to Samsun city organized by Samsun Metropolitan Municipality.

Holm&Laue company, based in Germany, continues to the trainings.
The expert company in calf feeding machines and hutch systems, Holm&Laue continues to the trainings in 2016. From the begining of this year, the company has conducted various meeting and training for its distributors, technical personel and sales team.
Refam Chairwoman of the Board Şake Yalçın and Ruminant Sales representative A. Özgür Çelikel have also attended to the training on 21 – 24 June, 2016. The spokesperson from the H&L mentioned that the machines they are developing, are produced compatible with the calf natural structure, animal behaviour and welfare.
New H&L 100 Hygiene Station, the automatic calf feeding system, was also launched. The system’s biggest feature is that preparing the diet for every calf and cleaning the nipples automatically after every sucking. It was also noticed that the advantages gained from this system does not exist in any other commercial types.
New improvements in the calf feeding machine, Milktaxi 3.0, was also demonstrated.
As it is widely known, for the profit gain, the right feeding is as important as the herd management system. Regarding to this, CALF-GUIDE, the calf management programme was also introduced to the participants. Healthy outdoor housing plan was also explained with the calf hutches and Igloo system.
Biosecurity is of course the core element for calves and prospective herd health. In a farm, the participants has also witnessed how quickly the Igloo system can be washed, disinfected and prepared again for the calves.

Refarm’s Natural Feed Additives Business Unit conducted a seminar in Ödemiş – İzmir, titled “Diseases that suppress the Immun system and Prophylaxis” in April 27th, 2016.
After the opening, Refarm’s Vice General Director Mr. Zafer Bozdogan made the first speech, mentioning the importance of producing healty animals in continously evolving world, the use of less antibiotics and the importance of natural feed additives in animal feeding.
Key speaker, Prof. Dr. Sezgin Şentürk, from the University of Uludağ, Department of Internal Diseases, gave advice about contamination of dieases, their prophylaxi ways and heat stress. Refarm’s Natural Feed Additives Business Unit Technical Manager Mr. Cafer Dinç, explained and demonstrated our products and services in the environment and food safety fields.
Mr. Mustafa Aydın, spoked on behalf of the Veterinarians from Ödemiş – İzmir, explaining that the veterinarians perfom a very important occupation, therefore producing a healty animal can cause the safe food and followed his speech with, “this condition brings us more responsibility to perform in a much more better ways”.
He also continued his speech briefly about the general sectorial problems and finalised with gratitutes to people who conducted this seminar.
The seminar continued with the information exchange among participated veterinarians, later on completed wih the thanks speech of Refarm’s Natural Feed Additives Business Unit Manager Abdurrahman Serdaroğlu to participants.
Refarm participated in Agroexpo Eurasia, the 11th International Agriculture and Livestock Exhibition in February 11-14, in İzmir. The opening speeches are told with the contributions of Mr. Faruk Çelik, Minister of Food, Mr. Mustafa Toprak, Agriculture and Livestock, İzmir Governor, İzmir Metropolitan Mayor Aziz Kocaoğlu and World Beekepeers Association’s President Philip McCabe. Together with 1400 participants over 54 countries, the fair is one of the biggest of its kind.
In our booth, we welcomed customers and friends, presented and advised suitable products for the prevention of diseases like Foot and Mouth disease and Cryptosporidiosis.
Together with our mottos “Biosecurity is our business” and “Safe food and Healthy life”, we also presented feed additives and performance products. Milktaxi, the calf feeding machine, was center of attraction as used to be.
Although, Tomcat rodent control products has the attraction and wide recognition, it’s been understood that the rodent control management is not being done as a systematic management. We addressed to this systematic management explaing as pre-investigation, bait stations, proper feeding and monitoring are the key elements to our customers.

After sharing our 30 years endeavor and experience in implementing the biosecurity concept with the visitors that we have welcome in our booth at 7th International Trade Fair for Poultry & Technologies VIV TURKEY 2015, we have celebrated our 30th year with our traditional dinner we have always held after the first exhibiton day.

Celebrating its 30th year in the market, Refarm has successfully completed the 7th International Trade Fair for Poultry & Technologies, VIV TURKEY 2015 held between 11th-13th June which is Turkey’s sole poultry event and hosted the guests in its original place and specially designed booth.
VIV TURKEY is an event that provides a platform for the Turkish poultry sector’s leading companies in the white meat, egg, equipment and technology sector where international relations are cultivated and export markets are created.
Together with 512 exhibitors, 153 from Turkey and 359 from abroad, Refarm has presented its products and services for the duration of three days.
Along with the executives from our suppliers, the Refarm staff has been present in order to convey the 30 years of knowledge and experience to our visitors in a delicate manner.

6th AnimalExpo 2015 International Livestock Technology, and Dairy Industry Exhibition
REFARM has successfully completed the 6th AnimalExpo 2015 held between 12-15 February 2015 in Izmir. Izmir is a very important agricultural & husbandry industrial area in Turkey. The exhibition area was 45.000m2 and along with REFARM, there were around 708 local and from 28 foreign exhibitors from 16 countries. There were 198.716 visitors in total and 5400 of this was from abroad.
Thanks to its location, city of Izmir, hosting this big event, it was attracted great attention by Aegean region, followed by all Turkish farmers, farm owners and industry professionals. The Fair was toured by visitors who were brought to the exhibition by organized buses which were coordinated by the fair organization.
In our stand, which was perfectly recognizable from the entrance of the Hall as per its location and design, we have welcome local and foreign visitors.
Being one of the leader companies in terms of biosecurity in Turkey, in year 2015, REFARM is celebrating its 30th year in the market. As always have been, in our booth we had the opportunity to display our wide range consisting of the best quality products. Surface disinfectants, teat disinfectants, special disinfectants against Cryptosporidium and coccidiosis, silos, calf hutches, rodent control products, calf-lamb-goat kid milk replacers and last of all a newly launched biotechnology product, Pro-Vitalyte which is used against the diarrhoea seen in calf-lamb-goat kids. Pro-Vitalyte which has no competition in Turkey market has attracted the attention of the producers whose animals are suffering from diarrhoea.
By the end, REFARM also received a participation certificate issued by the Fair Organization.

The 1st Biocide Products Application Symposium
The 1st Biocide Products Application Symposium for which Refarm was one of the leading sponsors, was held on 10th February, 2015, in İstanbul, together with the organization of the Public Health and Insect Control Association (HASKOD) and the Public Health Institution of the Ministry of Health.
In spite of the adverse weather conditions, there were participants 75 different companies along with their 151 representatives and Refarm has participated with a mini booth with its product portfolio concerning the Public Health, as rodent control products, industrial anti odor and surface disinfectants.
Subsequent of the training day for the update for the Responsible Manager Certificate in terms of the Biocidal Product Applications, the Applicators received their new certificates.
At the end of the Symposium, Refarm was awarded with a thank you plaque from HASKOD.

BURTARIM 2014, the Bursa 12th Agriculture, Seed Growing, Sapling and Dairy Industry Fair, took place in Bursa International Exhibition Fair and Congress Center with Bursa 7th Agricultural And Livestock Equipment Fair.
The fair, that has been held for 12 years, opened with the participation of representives from 25 countries and 524 companies, prepared in 7 different halls, 70 thousand m2 exhibition area of 40 thousand m2 closed and 30 thousand m2 opened and visited by 268.125 people. Refarm A.Ş. has welcome its VIP visitors and our stand was also crowded through fair. While our company is preparing to celebrate its 30th year, the visitors found the chance of seeing the different wide range of our products: surface disinfectants, pre and post milking disinfectants, disinfectants effective against cryptosporidium ve coccidiosis, silos, calf hutches, calf feeding systems, rodent control products.
The common major problem of visitors who came mainly from the rural areas, breeders and greenhousing was the increased rodent population that was also even seen in their houses.
We shared their problem and offered them a very effective solution! Recommending Tomcat 2 Blox and Pelleted baits, stations and mechanical traps giving protective measures and making sure that there will be no longer invasion! Virkon S, which is mainly used in greenhousing, also draw great attention by our visitors.
National Poultry Congress with international participation was held on October 9-11th, 2014 in Elazığ.
This year National Poultry Congress, arranged by Turkey Branch of World Poultry Science Association (WPSA) cooperation twice a year in different locations of the country, took place with the help of Elazığ Fırat University Veterinary Faculty.
The congress opened up together with Governor of Elazığ Ömer Faruk Koçak, Mayor of the City Mücahit Yanılmaz, Rector of Fırat University Prof. Dr. Kutbeddin Demirdağ, President of Turkish Academy of Sciences (TUBA) Prof. Dr. Ahmet Cevat Acar, WPSA 18th term President and President of Turkey Branch of World Poultry Science Association Prof. Dr. Rüveyde Akbay and Congress President Prof. Dr. Kazım Şahin.
After the opening, Congress President Prof. Dr. Kazım Şahin made the first speech, mentioned about the importance of making the congress in Elazığ and gave significant datas about poultry sector.
Many national and international academicians, sector representations and nongovermental organisations participated in the congress. In the session of ‘Current Status of Poultry Production and Aims’, after the speech of General Secretary of World Poultry Science Association Roel Mulder, Chairman of the Board of Turkish Poultry Meat Producers and Breeders Association Dr. Sait Koca explained the ‘Current Broiler Production Status, Aims, Problems and Proposed Solutions’. Refarm A.Ş., as well as Congress sponsor, has been represented by the Chairwoman of the Board Şake Yalçın and the Poultry Unit Supervisor S. Engin Altoprak. Participants have been informed during the conversations in our booth consisting of the biosecurity products.
Many speakers and scientists included our mission ‘Biosecurity and Biosecurity Applications’ in their presentations and researchs, made us very proud.
Before the congress, the indigenous songs from the local residents’artists has also left positive impressions in our memories. We would like to thank to Congress President Kazım Şahin who made this organisation and hosting, young members and students of Elazığ University Veterinary Faculty and other those who contributed.
Holm&Laue distributor meeting 2014
Holm&Laue distributor meeting took place in the Holm&Laue Westerrönfeld/Hamburg on June 12-13, 2014. Ms. Şake Yalçın has attended the meeting which was very efficient with its seminars, facility tours, excursions and practical works.
A seminar was given by Dr. Kunz called “Metabolic Programing”, emphasised on the posterior performance effects of calves (especially female calves) and their diets contain the formula of milk and milk replacer of good quality and high energy. Additionally, the importance of calf feeding according to its own special needs has also been presented with the studies performed.

managers of H&L, presented the company profile, future plans and new product overviews. Datas has taken from farm managers in farm tours. The work shop was very comprehensive in the tent in the campus area and all products have been displayed with its related expert. The new Milk Taxi 3.0 and CalfGuide- calf management programme get all the credits by the participants.
After two day of intense schedule, the musical band of German regional folk music was very relaxing and pleasent.

Refarm participated the 4th National Biocidal Congress, held by the cooperation with Yıldırım Beyazıt University and The Republic of Turkey Ministry of Health on 19-22 March, 2014 in Antalya.
In Turkey, Biocidal Products are under the scope of Regulation 27449 dated 31st December 2009 named as Biocidal Products Regulation. The regulation is enforced Ministry of Health, Public Health Institute of Turkey as amended in 12th March 2014.
Within the context of the Biocidal Products Regulation, the variances and issues related to the difficulties were thoroughly discussed. Along with the Congress, within the concept of Procedures And Principles Regarding The Biocidal Products Use Regulation, a concurrent Responsible Manager Training was also held.

Refarm participated ANIMALIA ISTANBUL 2014 on 20-23 February 2014.
Being the only international trade fair organized in Istanbul exclusive for livestock industry, ANIMALIA ISTANBUL was held in İstanbul CNR Expo Center.
With the remarkable booth, designed in a different concept, Refarm has drawn the attention of both local and foreign participants.
Refarm participated the International Poultry Expo, Atlanta, on 28-30 January 2014.
Despite inclement weather conditions, the 2014 International Poultry Expo, International Feed Expo, and International Meat Expo, that was integrated under the International Production & Processing Expo, started with a significant attendees over 31.300.
Refarm participated the 66 year old (IPPE), same as the previous years. In Expo, poultry products, packaging items and equipments of the poultry industry and innovations were shared.

Aviagen's Ross EPI now largest single stage PS hatchery in Western Europe
RTo accommodate its plans for further expansion, Parent Stock hatchery Ross EPI, part of the Aviagen Group, has completed a comprehensive refurbishment of its Dutch hatchery operations, working with single stage hatchery specialists .
Situated in Roermond, Ross EPI's Dutch hatchery has been refurbished with the latest in single stage equipment and technologies. The new installation includes a full single stage Smart incubation system, comprising SmartSet™ setters and SmartHatch™ hatchers, combined with a SmartDrive™ incubator control system, to accommodate the management of individual conditions per egg type and SmartCenter™, 's powerful hatchery management information system.
The newly updated hatchery has a total capacity of more than 10 million female chicks each year, making Ross EPI the largest Parent Stock hatchery in Western Europe. Ross EPI's refurbishment is a strategic expansion project for Aviagen, with the company focusing not only on supplying top class day old breeders for the Western European market, but also now extending deliveries to Poland and selected central European markets.
Lohmann and Refarm Academy deliver exemplary training for hatchery managers
Lohmann Breeders recently teamed up with Refarm Academy and PTC+ in Barneveld (The Netherlands) to deliver a bespoke training program for 15 hatchery managers from eight businesses in former Soviet Union countries Russia, Armenia, Ukraine, Latvia and Lithuania.
Refarm Academy and PTC+ provided a unique, tailor-made training program, translating the latest concepts of incubation and hatchery management for hatchery professionals.
The format proved highly effective. According to participants, the combination of theory and practice was exemplary, with teachings being trialed immediately in a series of practical exercises, and reviewed within the course framework so that participants could immediately see the results of their new-found knowledge.
Practical sessions allowed participants to try out every aspect of their training program on a small scale in the PTC+ School training rooms and 's brand new Inspiration Center, with 'life-size' sessions then held at the Probroed hatchery in Lievelde, the Netherlands, where approximately 3,7 million chicks are hatched per week.
The course introduced the latest findings in all areas of hatching in great detail, from collecting eggs for incubation, through embryo development, egg disinfection and storage, to state-of-the-art incubation techniques.
To facilitate the practical sessions, Lohmann Brown and LSL eggs were set three weeks prior to the training program. This allowed for detailed work in the areas of hatching egg management, egg quality, embryology, egg break out analysis and the quality scoring of day old chicks.
Thanks to the inspiration of Dr. Marleen Boerjan, Refarm Academy 's embryologist, the hatchery managers were able to see the embryos at every stage of their development, following the embryos' development every day, and seeing at first-hand how mistakes in transportation, storage and incubation can influence the development and quality of the hatched chicks.
One participant commented: 'This kind of training is truly helpful for my work back home. It perfectly illustrates why I have to do certain things, and when. I think we have all come away with a much greater appreciation of the importance of creating ideal conditions: it is possible and it produces outstanding results in terms of quality and uniformity.
"This superb work by PTC+ and has provided me with a starting point. Now it's up to me to out it into practice!"

Refarm A.Ş. took place in the Animalia Istanbul 2008, the 5th Livestock & Cattle Breeding Technologies International Trade Fair in Istanbul Expo Center, between 5-7 June, 2008.
Animalia Istanbul, which will be organized for the 5th time in 2008, is the only UFI (The Golbal Association of the Exhibition Industry) approved event in Turkey and the regions’s Livestock and Cattle Breeding Technologies Industry.
Through Animalia Istanbul the heart of stockbreeding & dairy production beated in Istanbul for 3 days long which aims to represent stock-breeding industry and allied technologies through dairy production equipment and feeds to organic milk and meat in a professional platform.
Opening session of this fair made by the organizator Mr. Bekir Çakıcı, General Manager of HKF Trade Fairs, then Mr. Ahmet Ertürk who is the deputy of Aydın province and the member of Agriculture, Forest and Rural Affairs the committee, began to speak, explaining the advantageous of this fair to the related sector and the government agriculture policy.
During the fair several seminar activities made giving the information for the demonstrated products in the boots. With 108 Turkish companies and 26 overseas companies from 12 different countries, Animalia Istanbul had a total of 134 companies participated and over 5.000 visitors this year.
